Lectures, contracts &
academic work
I am available to assist with institutional design projects, research projects, and adult education opportunities.
I am also accepting teaching opportunities in: criminal law, critical race theory, sentencing law, prison law, alternative justice mechanisms, and critical theory.
Examples of a few past and present projects are below.
Columbia Law School
I am engaged in curriculum development for an interdisciplinary course at the law school designed to help future lawyers increase access to justice for incarcerated people. I am also working on a project to help build the leadership of formerly incarcerated people to transform the criminal legal system.
African Nova Scotia Justice Institute
I am advising on the development of race-conscious restorative justice programming with the African Nova Scotia Justice Institute. Previously, I produced bilingual training modules on criminal law, sentencing and anti-Black racism for Impact of Race and Cultural Assessment (IRCA) writers.
University of Ottawa Faculty of Law
I am part-time faculty at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law in the English Common Law section. I am teaching Critical Race Theory to upper-year law students. We examine the historical foundations, key concepts and contemporary applications of critical race theory in Canadian legal and socio-legal contexts.
“Your presentation on Critical Race Theory was well received by participants who reported in their written evaluations that your presentation was “fascinating”, “thought provoking”, and “challenging.”
